OUR APPROACH
 Civil society development projects build the capacity of local non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and community-based organizations (CBOs), enabling them to work effectively on behalf of local groups and communities. Our experience includes:
- Forming, training and developing local boards of directors
- Strategic planning and business plan development
- Training in resource mobilization and resource management strategies
- Developing monitoring systems and conducting participatory evaluation
- Training in grant writing and reporting
- Improving collaboration among local NGOs through strengthening information-sharing and providing networking opportunities
- Improving civil society-government relations through civics education, advocacy and training for government officials
OICI ensures effective local capacity building through the sharing of newsletters, training manuals, detailed sector models and working papers that can serve to ensure access to continuous capacity building services that are practical, relevant and based on actual project experiences, lessons learned and best practices.
