Opportunities Industrialization Centers Ghana (OIC Ghana)

MISSIONOIC Ghana's mission is to contribute to the human resource development of Ghana through the provision of marketable vocational/technical and entrepreneurship skills, counselling and follow-up services to disadvantaged, unskilled and unemployed youth to earn a decent living.
VISIONOIC Ghana's vision is to be a leading and self-sustaining vocational institution in Ghana which produces competent graduates for the Ghanaian industry.
ORGANIZATION OVERVIEWEstablished in 1971, OIC Ghana provides training in vocational skills, creates employment opportunities, and offers counseling, job-placement, and follow-up services to disadvantaged, unskilled, and unemployed Ghanaian youth. Over the past 35 years, OICG has grown into an impressive national organization with a strong and dedicated Board of Directors, a capable staff, and well-institutionalized structures. Now operating at three program sites in Ghana, OICG has actively demonstrated its commitment to sustainability by seeking greater involvement from individuals and communities in decisions that affect their well-being.
PROGRAMSOIC Ghana's current programs include skills training, apprenticeship training and HIV/AIDS care and support programs at three centers in the cities of Accra, Sekondi-Takoradi and Kumasi. Prior to 2000, OICG's main clients were unskilled and unemployed literate youth. Since 2001, OIC Ghana has been receiving financial support from EED of Germany that has allowed it to expand its services to illiterate and semi-literate youth in the Kumasi metropolis.
OIC Ghana has a long history of offering Skills Training courses and currently offers strong courses in:
