Mist Valley Coffee, there coffee & contribution to our charity

For the duration of our business “Mist Valley Coffee”, we are donating 50% of our proceeds to Together for Adoption & OIC International.

Together for Adoption reminds us: “It often seems absolutely too good to be true, but it is true: if you are a Christian, God the Father looks at you, and says, ‘You are my dearly loved child. I delight in you!’

And it is this great truth that does not diminish pursuit of social justice for orphans but intensifies it.”

OIC International are a big help in getting people trained and self sustainable in the many industries but what stands out to us the the agriculture industry, many coffee growers/workers are in poor working conditions and we want to help fund these people and work there employers to get a better standard for all coffee

We want to partner with Together for Adoption because they help people intensify their desires to pursue social justice for the orphan.

Check out their website to find out more about them: www.togetherforadoption.org.

Here are some of our favourite Cafe stops for culture food and coffee blends we came across on our trips around the world to source the best coffee beans.

Cafe con leche (Spanish Coffee)

We first tried Café con leche together with some delicious Churros, more of this in our other blog post! Café con leche was initially presented to us as part of the ritual, if you will, to dip your morning Churros in, serving its purpose perfectly due to the white milky style of coffee. However, Café con leche was equally beautiful if served for simply drinking like any other coffee. Although we are huge fans of our black coffees, this white milky coffee was certainly something different and definitely didn’t disappoint. Perfect with a little sugar, this was something we could drink every morning to lift us up and get us ready for the day ahead. If you’re not a fan of black coffees, we couldn’t recommend this anymore to you, a perfect blend of creamy and sweet. So what are you waiting for, come try the wonderful café con leche partnered with a sweet churros at our wonderful warm welcoming sea side café.

Cafe de olla (Mexican Coffee)

Café de olla, or pot coffee has earned its spot on our menu as it is the most traditional style of coffee within Mexico. We first tried this style of coffee in a beautiful coffee shop when we were out there. We were quite surprised how great it taste due to the fact that, this pot coffee is so popular because the ‘pot’ is meant to give the coffee a special taste which we thought was utter nonsense and just one of those myths that everyone sort of doesn’t believe but still does the action anyway. We aren’t still sure if it’s the traditional sugar (panela) that gives it its great taste but it seems to be true, this coffee had its own special taste. It had a very sweet, cinnamon taste but it went down a treat, very different to the traditional coffees some countries have to offer. Unlike the other coffees we have to offer, this coffee has made it on the list due to the unique making method which has been used rather than the ingredients or style which has been done to achieve such a delightful treat. We cannot truly do this coffee justice in our words alone, that’s why we have added this wonderfully sweet dream to our menu so that our beautiful customers can come down and have their own experience, you’ll feel just like you’re in Mexico!

Carne Con Papa (Mexico Main)

Carne Con Papas or Cuban Beef Stew was another wonderful meal that we had the pleasure of tasting whilst we were in Mexico, Carne Con Papas is more of an experience than it is simply eating a food. We first experienced this dish in Mexico when we decided to go to a nice, upmarket restaurant for the evening, the night before we were heading home in fact. As soon as we walked into the restaurant we were all instantly hypnotizing with smell of this wonderful dish and it had us all trothing at the mouth, it was like you could taste all the flavours in the air so of course we ordered this mysterious meal for our main. And my gosh did we not regret it, when you have your first mouth full, it’s just indescribable how gorgeous this dish was, the beef is packed with flavour so once you start chewing it, it releases all the flavours into your mouth all at once, clearly simmered to perfection. This, paired with some classic Mexican white rice, the dish will became an instant favourite amongst us all and we hope our customers will agree once they have tried it. It’s was indescribable how good this dish was to experience in Mexico and that’s why we have added this wonderful main to our Menu so that you too get the opportunity to experience this dish. We really can’t sum this meal up any better into words, you’ll just have to come try it for yourself!

Churros (Spanish Breakfast)

Churros feel more of a special treat than a breakfast but when we thought about it a little more, why not have a treat for breakfast? We believe you should be rewarded after getting up at the crack of dawn to start your day! That’s why we decided to add wonderful Churros to our Menu so you can taste a mouth-watering sweet treat in the comfort of our café. We were first introduced to this wonderful creation one morning whilst we were in Spain, getting up so early had negativity affected us because let’s face it, who enjoys getting up at 6am?! Well, Churros turned our morning around, these wonderful things were a delight to eat and positively affected our day, and I don’t think I would have been able to cope otherwise. Dipped in a traditional Café con leche, they were the perfect match for any morning breakfast, additionally, if you wanted to get a little wild you could also add extra sugar or chocolate to them, both delicious with or without though! If for some reason you’re not intrigued by the wonderful thought of sweet chocolate dipped Churros, then don’t take our word for it and just come and try them for yourself down by our café, we promise you won’t regret it!

Huevos Rancheros (Mexico Breakfast)

Carne Con Papas or Cuban Beef Stew was another wonderful meal that we had the pleasure of tasting whilst we were in Mexico, Carne Con Papas is more of an experience than it is simply eating a food. Pao De Queijo (Brazilian Breakfast)

When we first thought of traveling to Brazil, to hunt for traditional foods and coffee to put onto our Café Menu, I don’t think we were quite prepared with how delicious some of the produce were, we were absolutely spoilt for choice. One of our personal favourites (which we had every morning whilst we were there!) was the Pão de queijo, also known as Brazilian Cheese Balls. Now, you may be thinking, this isn’t anything outrageous and kind of boring. Well you’d be right about part of that statement, simple? Yes. Boring? Not at all! These gorgeous cheese balls are crunchy on the outside but pack immense flavour on the inside featuring a fluffy, delicate texture that pleases you with every last bite. We perfectly paired these wonderful cheese balls with a nice hot cup of Média every morning (which is also on our Menu!) and if you’re feeling extra daring, these wonderful cheese balls taste even better with a slight spreading of jam across the top or within. There was no real competition from the other breakfast foods in Brazil, they were all delicious but mainly because we completely ignored everything else once we tried these cheesy balls of goodness, and that’s why they have earned a place on our menu so that all our wonder customers can get a taste of a traditional Brazilian breakfast in the comfort of our seaside Café!

Santos (Brazil Coffee)

Whilst not very wild and out there, the Santos Brazil Coffee came to be a favourite of ours whilst we were out exploring such a beautiful country for its traditional produce. Santos Brazil Coffee is one of the countries most shipped coffees throughout the world, it gets its name due to the port which it ships from and to, Santos, which also beans that it is high in quality. You could easily get such a coffee in your home country, there’s just something about drinking such a worldwide known Brazilian coffee whilst enjoy some cheese balls (Pão de queijo) on a gorgeous Brazilian morning. If I had to describe this wonderful coffee in a matter of a few words I would say, sweet, smooth and creamy which makes it perfect for lovers of coffee or occasional drinkers. I can’t urge you enough to try this beautiful coffee in our Café today, you’re missing out if you don’t experience this wonderful Brazilian sourced bean, you’ll almost feel like you’re in Brazil once you get a taste of the sweet coffee goodness.
